  2. Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica) – Bibhitaki helps in the pacification of excessive pitta and kapha dosha. It improves the health of the eyes and the hairs.   2. Swarasa Dravya – The juice or extract of the following herbs are used i.e. Bhringraj (Eclipta alba), Vasa (Adhatoda vasica), Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia)
  3. Kalk Dravya – The herbs used in the form of paste are Peepal (Ficus religiosa), Mishri (Saccharum officinarum), Munnaka (Vitis vinifera), Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Nilofer (Nymphaea alba  ), Mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Kshir kakoli (Lilium polyphyllum), Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Choti kateri (Solanum surattense), Goghrit (Cow’s ghee), Aja dugdha (Goat milk).

1. Kwath Dravya

  1. Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) – Haritaki is a wonderful Ayurvedic herb. It helps in balancing the levels of all the three dosha (vata, pitta, kapha) of the body. Haritaki is beneficial in heart diseases, inflammation, urine related difficulties, etc. Neurological system and the health of the eyes can be improved using haritaki in appropriate amounts.
  2. Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) – Bibhitaki is very beneficial for improving eyesight. It is effective in managing inflammation, pain, and bleeding, etc. It also provides strength to the body. Swaras Dravya

  1. Bhringraj (Eclipta alba) – Bhringraj possesses various health benefits such as improving strength, teeth health, and hair quality, etc. It helps in managing pain, swelling, and promotes hair growth, etc. The extracts of bhringraj are helpful in improving complexion, wound healing, appetite, and digestion. It is effective in various vata disorders. Bhringraj is known to improve vision. Eye-related difficulties such as night blindness, conjunctivitis and myopia can be managed effectively using bhringraj. Various other eye disorders and ear disorders are improved with the use of bhringraj.
  2. Vasa (Adhatoda vasica) – The vasa helps to increase the heart rate and lower the blood pressure. It contains various medicinal properties such as analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti bacterial, etc. Vasa can cause vasodilation and bronchodilation. It is very beneficial in respiratory disorders such as asthma, breathlessness, throat difficulties, chest infections, etc also. It is a blood purifier, diaphoretic and can be used in skin infections, bleeding and discharge. The pacification of excessive kapha can be done through the use of vasa.
  3. Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) – It is very beneficial in pacifying the excessive levels of vata and pitta dosha. Shatavari is a brain tonic and helps in relieving pain; it gives energy to the brain and nerves. It aids in improving bleeding disorders, cardiac conditions and inflammatory conditions.   4. Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) – Amla is most commonly used in combination with haritaki (Terminalia chebula) and bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) known as triphala. Amla is a tridosha shamak herb (i.e. pacifies vata, pitta, kapha). It is a rasayana as it is known to rejuvenate the body. Baldness and grey hair can be managed effectively by using amla. It is useful in chronic fever, thirst and burning sensation. It is a hair tonic also. Amla aids the digestive system and helps in managing appetite, curative, antacid, anorexia etc. Amla is used to provide strength to the bone marrow.   5. Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) – It is a tridosha shamak herb i.e. it helps to pacify the imbalance of all the three dosha vata, pitta, and kapha from the body. Giloy is commonly known as Guduchi. It can be used as an antiseptic as well as an analgesic (pain relief). It is an anti emetic agent (effective in vomiting). It is effective in reducing thirst, helps to improve digestion and acts as an antacid. It is a very good rasayana i.e. it is known to rejuvenate the body. It promotes the urinary system and acts as an aphrodisiac (i.e. it increases the sexual health such as sexual desire, sexual pleasure, etc.). It is used to cure cough and chronic fever. It helps in managing diabetes. It is effective in blood disorders, reduces burning, blood disorders, splenomegaly, gout and anaemia. It is a very good rasayan (rejuvenator) for all the seven dhatus (rasa, rakta, masa, meda, asthi, majja, shukra) of the body.

Kalk Dravya

  1. Pippal (Ficus religiosa) – The bark of pippal is an astringent. It is used in vomiting, diarrhoea, dysentery, etc. The pipala tree is very huge and tall. The fruits appear in summer and ripe in monsoon. The ripe fruits of pippal are used to manage stomach aches and constipation. It is useful in reducing pain and inflammation. The fruits of pippal are also useful in gout, blood disorders and bleeding disorders. The bark, fruits and leaves are used for medicinal purposes. It helps to pacify excessive kapha and pitta dosha levels. It is also used as a haemostatic agent.
  2. Mishri (Saccharum officinarum) – Sacchrum refers to sugar producing. It is used in dysuria. The water boiled with mishri can be given in excessive thirst. Mishri is effective in managing bleeding disorders, dysuria, burning sensation, leucorrhoea, erysipelas, etc. It is very useful in improving eyesight and managing various eyesight related difficulties. 
  3. Munnaka (Vitis vinifera) – It is very useful in thirst, bleeding disorders, burning, gout, pleurisy, tuberculosis, cough, asthma, etc. It is also beneficial in urine related difficulties such as dysuria, burning micturition, etc. Munakka is very effective in improving the health of the uterus and the heart. It also benefits the various conditions of the eye such as phthisis, etc. It gives relief from burning sensation, etc.
  4. Triphala [Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica)] – Triphala is a combination of three fruits i.e. Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica). This combination helps to pacify the excessive levels of tri dosha (vata, pitta, kapha). It improves the digestive system and helps in managing appetite, curative, antacid, anorexia etc. It is effective in managing inflammation, pain, and bleeding, etc. It also provides strength to the body. Neurological system and the health of the eyes can be improved using triphala in correct doses.
  5. Nilofer (Nymphaea alba) – It helps in managing diarrhoea, dysentery, and various bleeding disorders such as nasal bleeding, heavy periods, etc. It aids in managing burning sensation. It provides a cooling effect in the body. Nilofer improves the quality of blood as it purifies the blood.
  6. Mulethi (Glycyrrhiza glabra) – It is very helpful in disorders induced by vata and pitta dosha. Mulethi is applied locally in poisoning and ulcerated wounds. Surgical wounds are healed with the local application of yashti madhu mixed with go ghrit (Cow ghee).   7. Kshir kakoli (Lilium polyphyllum) – It is very helpful in managing different type of blood disorders. Kshir kakoli improves the health of the heart. Giloy controls emesis, thirst, appetite, etc. It is an anti helminthic, antiseptic, anti inflammatory and aphrodisiac agent. It has a promotive and anti diabetic effect also. The oil extracted from giloy is used in various skin conditions and gout also. It is a very good antipyretic agent. Giloy is used to pacify the excessive levels of the tridosha (vata, pitta, kapha).
  9. Choti kateri (Solanum surattense) – Choti kateri possesses hot potency. It helps to pacify excessive vata and kapha dosha. It contains numerous medicinal properties such as analgesic, anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, etc. The fumes of choti kateri are inhaled in dental caries, dental pain and piles. It is used in neurological disorders such as epilepsy, convulsions, etc. The local application of kateri helps to relieve the pain in arthritis and various other body aches. It is useful in various skin disorders. It helps to relieve cough, It helps in stimulating nerves.
  10. Cow’s ghee – The ghee extracted from cow’s milk is considered the best for medicinal purposes. It is cool in potency and helps to improve the overall health of the body. The consumption of cow ghee helps to aid digestion. It helps to relieve fever and various burning sensations. The use of cow ghee helps to improve the eyesight of the individual.
