WHAT IS LIVER HEMANGIOMA?

This is a non- cancerous, benign tumor of the liver which consists of clusters which are filled with blood which is lined by endothelial cells and it gets its nutrition from hepatic arteries.  It occurs in 20% of the population, and ranges from few mm to 3 mm, it generally does not grow beyond this due to which it does not produce many symptoms, but it can grow up to 10 mm and even more than 20 mm and can produce symptoms and complications. According to some studies, mostly adults are affected by this condition and women are more prone to this condition. Hepatic hemangiomas are small and multiple lesions on the surface of the liver.

CAUSES OF HEPATIC HEMANGIOMA

There is not a perfect cause but it has seen that it runs in families which prove that it is genetic.

SYMPTOMS OF HEMANGIOMAS

Mostly it does not produce any symptoms but when its size gets increased more than 10 mm than it will produce symptoms like:

  1. Pain in the region of the liver that is the upper right corner.
  2. Early satiety which means decreased appetite.
  3. Vomiting and Nausea

RISK FACTORS OF HEMANGIOMA

The risk factors involved related to the hemangioma are:

  1. Age – People aged between 30-50 years are mostly affected
  2. Sex – Women are more at risk
  3. Pregnancy – Pregnant women are more prone to liver hemangiomas compared to the women who have never been pregnant. It can be due to the increase in the level of estrogen during pregnancy.
  4. Hormone Replacement Therapy – Women taking hormonal therapy for the menopausal symptoms are more likely to have this disorder.

1. MAHASHANKH VATI

This medication is used for the purpose of increasing digestion power, treating conditions like loss of appetite, bloating and flatulence, constipation, hyperacidity, abdominal pain and other digestion related disorders. This medication works wonders for any GIT related disorder.

IT CONTAINS

  • Shunthi (Zingiber officinale) – This is dried ginger, it has hot potency but does not cause acidity, It balances kapha dosha and increases digestion and metabolism of the body.
  • Pippali (Piper longum) – This herb is pungent in taste and it has hot potency. It is an aphrodisiac and anti-ageing effect. It has strong light and piercing qualities which undergo sweet taste after conversion after digestion.
  • Shankha Bhasma (Conch shell calx) – It is mainly used in problems related to digestion like malabsorption, gastritis and abdominal pain, dysfunction of acid in stomach, It is also helpful in compensating the body’s calcium deficiency.
  • Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) – This has a sweet and sour taste which can be used in treatment of anorexia, it undergoes sour taste conversion after digestion. It improves digestion and can be used in diabetes and urinary tract disorders.

2. AGNITUNDI VATI

This medication is helpful in improving GUT health, strengthening the intestines and digestion as it stimulates the secretion of digestive juices from organs like liver, pancreas and small intestines. It can be used in abdominal colic and relieves flatulence.

IT CONTAINS

  • Triphala which is a group of three herbs amalaki (Emblica officinalis), haritaki (Terminalia chebula), bibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica) pulp of all the three herbs are used in equal quantity which helps in elevating inflammation, control diabetes, help in promoting weight loss and it also relieves stress.
  • Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) – This herb is light to digest and has a pungent taste after conversion. It balances kapha and vata and also increases the pitta dosha.
  • 4 Types of Salts – these are added to relieve the inflammation, and all the salts are good for relieving the anorexia and good for digestion.

3. LIVO PLAN SYRUP

This syrup is useful for the conditions related to liver, it can be used to treat various liver disorders, and it has antioxidant effects and also hepato-protective action. It can also be used for the digestion of ama (Undigested food converted to toxins) due to which any disorders are happening.
