In Ayurveda, joint problem is known as sandhivata (sandhi means joints and vata means vata doshas). Joint and muscle pain are due to aggravation of vata (air). Vata is aggravated due to accumulation of ama (toxins) which is toxic product of improper digestion. These toxins are circulated in the whole body and deposits in the weaker part of body. When it get deposited over joints and aggravation of vata also occurs it results in disease called joint pain or amavata. This condition occurs when vata activity is increased inside joints because vata is dry in nature, it absorbs fluid from any part of body like synovial fluid from joints.

Joint pain can be aggravated due to improper use of joints, stress, overexertion, diet and lifestyle. About millions of people are effected by joint problems. 80 % of people are over age of 50 years.

According to Ayurveda, there are two major types of joint problems. First is associated with poorly nourished or low bone density and weakness in the joints. Second is associated with overload of toxins in joints. It is characterized by severe pain in affected area, fever and stiffness in joints and muscles.

WHO CAN USE ORTHOVITA OIL?

HOW TO USE?

Take 5 to 10 ml oil in your palm. Rub it gently over the painful and stiffed joint, Wrap with warm cloth at least for 2 hours. Don’t expose to cool air conditioner and give rest to yourself. Rest and relaxation restore energy as well as allow the body to repair itself naturally. Moreover resting allows your body to cope with the demands being made on it, thus preventing potential joint pain.

Dosage – Apply gently over affected area twice in a day.
