Revandchini is also known as Amalvetas in Ayurveda. This churna has an astringent property. Revandchini churna reduces vata and kapha dosha and increases pitta dosha in body. This churna works on plasma, blood and fat in body. This churna is used in many disorders. Sometimes this churna imparts yellow color to the urine which is harmless in nature.

Revandchini churna is also known to have laxative actions and is used in constipation. This herb is used both externally and internally. This herb contains constituents like rhein, emodin, chrysophanol, emodin-3-monomethyl ether, aloe-emodin, cinnamic, rheinolic acid, starch, volatile oil and calcium oxalate etc. in it. The presence of tannin in it gives relief in diarrhea and the presence of Anthraquinones in it stimulate its laxative effect.
