Trigeminal Neuralgia is a disease where in a person experiences severe shooting pain on one side of the jaw or cheek. Sometimes a person can even feel pain on both the sides of cheek or jaw at different times. The pain is so intense and not less than an electric shock. This disease affects one of the largest nerves in the head called “trigeminal nerve”. This nerve is responsible to send signals related to touch, pressure, pain and temperature from the face, jaw, gums and forehead, eyes to the brain.
