HEALTH BENEFITS OF NAGKESAR POWDER

Nagkesar has a number of health benefits because of its time-tested medicinal properties. Some of the most notable health benefits of Nagkesar powder are:

1. Managing Indigestion

Nagkesar has the capability to manage the problem of indigestion, which basically indicates an incomplete digestion process. Indigestion is mostly a result of Kapha aggravation which weakens the digestive fire (Angi) and leads to digestive problems. The intake of Nagkesar powder can facilitate the digestive process by improving Agni because the powder has Pachan (digestive) and Deepan (appetizer) properties.

2. Treating Bleeding Disorders

Nagkesar has the properties to treat various types of bleeding disorders, which can either result from a Pitta imbalance in the body or the aggravation of all the three doshas. The use of Nagkesar powder can provide relief to people suffering from Bleeding Piles. It can also benefit women who have irregular periods and experience excessive bleeding during the periods. Nagkesar can regulate the periods of women suffering from menstrual disorders and increase their fertility.

3. Managing Cold/Cough And Controlling Asthma

Nagkesar can be useful in treating cold and cough because of its expectorant and anti-bacterial actions. The use of Nagkesar powder is beneficial in managing cold and cough because it can soothe the throat and remove congestion. Moreover, the Pitta-balancing properties of Nagkesar can be beneficial for Asthma patients because it can remove excess mucus from the lungs, reduce obstruction in the respiratory passage, and relieve breathing difficulties.

4. Reducing Fever Symptoms

Nagkesar can be beneficial in reducing the symptoms of fever which can result from various reasons, depending on the vitiation of a particular dosha. In most cases, fever results from the build-up of Ama (toxins) in excess, because of digestive problems. Nagkesar powder can effectively manage the general causes and signs of fever.

5. Healing Wounds And Cuts

The Ropan (healing) property of Nagkesar can speed up the process of healing of wounds, cuts, and skin sores. The use of Nagkesar — internally as herbal powder and externally as a topical application in the form of oil — can reduce the swelling resulting from a wound, and quickly heal wounds/cuts by repairing the affected skin and restoring its normal texture.

6. Reducing Pain And Inflammation

Nagkesar has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties because of which it can reduce pain — especially bone and joint pain — and treat the disorders which cause inflammation. The use of Nagkesar powder can be beneficial in alleviating the symptoms of Vata imbalance which is usually one of the main causes of bone and joint pain.

7. Relieving Headache

Headache induced by stress, fatigue or anxiety — and even migraine headache — can be relieved with the help of Nagkesar. The regular intake of Nagkesar powder, or the application of Nagkesar paste, can promote the relaxation of tensed muscles, and reduce stress and fatigue. In this way, Nagkesar can be beneficial in managing headache.

Along with the above-mentioned health benefits of Nagkesar powder, there are several other conditions that can be managed with the use of the herbal powder. These conditions include:

  • Respiratory problems like Dyspnea (breathlessness)
  • Urinary disorders
  • Cardiac debility
  • Skin problems
  • Gastritis
  • Dyspepsia
  • Abdominal colic pain
  • Convulsions/Seizures
  • Liver and spleen disorders.
