The use of Bhasmas in Ayurvedic system of medicine has been practiced since ages as bhasmas help the body to get free from the diseases and balances all the three doshas. Bhasmas should be taken under medical provision only and for a specified period of time.

Rajat Bhasma is a traditional Ayurvedic medicine used for many ailments. This medicine is nothing but a reduced form of silver nanoparticles. It is also known as Roupya Bhasma or Chandi Bhasma in Hindi. Rajat Bhasma prepared by Planet Ayurveda is pure, effective and free from artificial colours and preservatives.

It is prepared with the technique of extensive oxidation under intense heat. Silver ash is obtained under high temperature from pure silver particles. With the process of heating under intense temperature, silver particles are converted into nano-particles and ash becomes light in weight and floats over the water. Nano technology is a technique of modern science but preparation of bhasmas in Ayurveda by nano-technology has been practiced since ages.

Compostion of Rajat Bhasma by Planet Ayurveda

It contains calcined silver particles. The fine powder of silver is processed with lime juice and then dried and heated under high temperature.

Uses of Rajat Bhasma

• Silver is a natural coolant. So, this is quite useful in Pitta related disorders like burning sensation, excessive thirst etc.
• This bhasma is an excellent rejuvenator and considered as an anti-aging medicine.
• Rajat bhasma is useful in menorrhagia, uterine disorders, pre-menstrual syndrome, menopausal symptoms, post-partum depression and pain during sexual intercourse.
• This is prescribed in blood associated with vomiting and diarrhoea due to nervous excitement.
• It is also prescribed in memory loss, dizziness, parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, mania, irritability, insomnia, depression, schizophrenia, loss of appetite due to anxiety and stress, hysteria, violent mental agitation, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), sadness or mental/emotional pain etc.
• It boosts the immune system, body strength, brain activity, digestion and skin colour.
• Rajat Bhasma is useful in cardio-vascular diseases like atherosclerosis and high cholesterol levels.
• It is also useful for the medical treatment of diabetes caused by deficiency of insulin.
• Being coolant in nature, Rajat Bhasma is also beneficial in urinary disorders which are caused by imbalance of Pitta dosha. It works as an anti-biotic in urinary tract disorders. It also improves kidney functions and albuminuria (presence of proteins in the urine). It is also useful in syphilis which is a venereal disease.
• It aids in the reduction of Vata so it reduces pain in the natural way.
• Rajat Bhasma is also useful in skin disorders like – skin infections and gangrene.
• In men’s disease, rajat bhasma is useful in male infertility due to pus in seminal fluid, impotency and oligospermia.
• In tuberculosis, swarna bhasma is a remedy of choice in Ayurveda when patient complains of burning sensation and excessive sweating.
• In Amalpitta or gastritis, when a patient complains of burning sensation in chest or abdomen, frequent acid attacks, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, irritation caused by vagus nerve malfunctions, silver ash or Rajat Bhasma is highly beneficial.
• In chronic dry cough, when cough occurs due to throat irritation, there is an inflammation of throat airways, silver ash is highly recommended. It is also beneficial when yellowish or greenish sputum comes out along with cough i.e. chest infection. Rajat bhasam acts as an antibiotic in chest infection.
