Meaning: In this shloka, the symptoms of liver disorders are described. According to this shloka, due to the factors said earlier, the enlarged spleen looks like stone, hard to touch, looks like a tortoise. If the treatment is not done in the initial stages, then it leads to the digestive disorders and spleen disorders.

Symptoms: Patient becomes weak, loses interest in food, food does not get digested properly, there is an obstruction in passing urine and stools, darkness around the eyes, excessive thirst, pain in the organs, vomiting, loss of consciousness, cough, short breathe, low grade fever, low digestion strength, pain in abdominal region, upper part of the abdomen becomes red in colour and there is a formation of blue, green or yellow coloured lines on abdomen.
The lower part of the abdomen consists of the liver. All the symptoms of spleen disorder resemble the liver disorder.

1. Bhringraj (Eclipta alba)

This herb is pungent, bitter, dry, light and hot in nature. It is rejuvenating, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, anti-toxic and anti-poisonous in nature.

2. Kalmegh (Andrographia paniculata)

This herb is bitter, light, hot and dry in nature. It is helpful in inflammation of the liver and purifies blood as well.

3. Shyonak (Oroxylum indicum)

This plant possesses qualities such as sweet, bitter, astringent and has hot potency. It is considered as one of the best herbs to treat urinary disorders. This herb also improves digestion strength and has absorption qualities.

4. Rohitaka (Tecomella undulata)

Rohitaka herb is pungent, astringent, dry and cold in nature. It pacifies Pitta and Kapha dosha and useful in spleen and liver disorders. It acts as a good blood purifier.

5. Bhumi amla (Phyllanthus niruri)

Bhumi Amla is bitter, astringent, sweet, dry and cold in nature. It is a liver protecting herb and used for inflammation of spleen and liver, jaundice and skin diseases.

6. Trayamana (Gentiana kurroo)

The common name of this herb is Chireta and it is bitter, dry and hot in nature. It is useful in the treatment of liver disorders as it acts as a liver detoxifier.

7. Patol (Trichosanthes dioica)

It is bitter, pungent, dry and hot in nature. It is very beneficial in improving gastric health, purifies blood and useful in skin disorders.

8. Ghrit Kumari (Aloe barbendensis)

Aloe vera is hot, bitter, sweet, heavy and unctuous in nature. It pacifies the vitiated Pitta and Kapha, reduces inflammation, heals wounds and purifies the vitiated blood.

9. Pitpapda (Fumaria indica)

This herb is light, bitter in taste and has cold potency. This plant is beneficial in liver complaints, dyspepsia, skin conditions etc. It helps in purifying blood in cutaneous disease and liver obstruction.

10. Sharpunkha (Tephrosia purpurea)

Sharpunkha herb is bitter and astringent in taste, light, dry and piercing in nature and has hot potency. This herb is effective in the treatment of liver cirrhosis as it helps in the regeneration of new liver cells.

11. Dugdhapheni (Taraxacum officinale)

It is also known as common dandelion. It is very effective in bile and liver problems, and is also a diuretic. It also act as a mild laxative, for increasing appetite.

12. Kasani (Cichorium intybus)

This herb is bitter, light, dry and cold in nature. It pacifies Pitta dosha and helpful in the treatment of enlarged liver. It protects the liver against alcohol induced hepatic damage and also lowers blood sugar levels.
